Creating A 'Simple Plan' For Using Tech On Tour
This week’s SET spotlight is Canadian pop punk band Simple Plan and their use of SET.Live on tour!
We’re putting the spotlight on alternative rock band 3 Doors Down and the creative way they’re using SET.Live at live shows.
We knew from our very first meeting with the the band's artist management team that they were going to do AMAZING things with SET.Live! As soon as we started talking about finding creative ways to collect fan data at live shows, JP Durant and the team at Red Light Management immediately understood the assignment.
By working closely and collaboratively with their team, we were able to move quickly to get 3 Doors Down set up for the full tour in a matter of days. Even though our first meeting was only a few days before the tour kicked off, we worked together to map out a plan for the full tour and the band was able to use SET.Live starting from night one of the tour!
“We welcome any opportunity to collect real time fan data at shows. SET.Live made the process easy and the landing pages looked great. We enjoyed the process working with them on our most recent tour and look forward to doing more in the future.” - JP Durant | Red Light Management (3 Doors Down)
3 Doors Down is an American rock band from Escatawpa, Mississippi, formed in 1996. The band’s debut album, The Better Life, became one of the biggest-selling albums of 2000, going platinum four times during its first year of release and spawning several singles. The band furthered its success with 2002's Away from the Sun, which debuted at number eight on the Billboard Top 200 and, like its predecessor, climbed to multi-platinum status. 3 Doors Down toured steadily throughout 2003 and 2004 in support of Away from the Sun, and issued the live EP Another 700 Miles as a holdover between studio efforts. The group returned with a heavier album, Seventeen Days, in early 2005. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and went platinum in its first week of release. A self-titled album repeated its predecessor's success when it too debuted at the top of the Billboard 200.
The band has been primarily described as post-grunge and alternative rock, while occasionally crossing into hard rock and southern rock. Their lyrical content contains overarching themes of angst, rebellion, revenge, yearning, and abandonment. 3 Doors Down has sold 30 million copies worldwide.
